Today we celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Each year, people across the country and around the world celebrate the birthday of this great leader.

Dr. King’s work for justice, equality, and peace continues to inspire us all. His dedication to fighting for civil rights and advocating for those without a voice reminds us of the importance of compassion, fairness, and standing up for what is right. As counselors, it is vital that we carry forward his legacy by promoting understanding, inclusion, and equity in our work and in our communities.

Let us take the time on this day as an opportunity to reflect on how we can continue to build a more just and compassionate world, both as individuals and as professionals.

As we honor Dr. King’s legacy, let us remain committed to upholding the core values that define our organization—service, leadership, community, social justice, inclusivity, and excellence. Let us continue to stand as a united front, supporting one another and embracing the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. Together, we can create an even greater impact, not only within our own community but in the lives of many.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication and for being a part of this vibrant community.

Peace, Love, and Unity,

The Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW) Leadership Team
