ASGW will hold its biennial conference February 9- February 11, 2024, at the One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The conference theme is “Stronger Together: Research, Reinvention, & Reconnection in Group Work.” Group workers around the world have risen to the myriad challenges of the past few years to reimagine ways to build and sustain connection and community. Social justice advocacy has always been at the heart of group work and continues to play a prominent role as we incorporate anti-oppression principles into our collective practice and research. This conference will highlight innovative research, outstanding group practice, and experiential group work in its many forms.
Dr. Adam Stephens, Assistant Professor at SUNY New Paltz, currently serves as our Special Initiatives Committee Chair. As we get to know our leadership and members a bit better, we asked a few questions about his experience working with groups and his involvement in ASGW.
