ASGW will hold its biennial conference February 9- February 11, 2024, at the One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The conference theme is “Stronger Together: Research, Reinvention, & Reconnection in Group Work.” Group workers around the world have risen to the myriad challenges of the past few years to reimagine ways to build and sustain connection and community. Social justice advocacy has always been at the heart of group work and continues to play a prominent role as we incorporate anti-oppression principles into our collective practice and research. This conference will highlight innovative research, outstanding group practice, and experiential group work in its many forms.
Sessions will be offered in several formats, including 3-hour pre-conference institutes (introductory or advanced sessions); a 1.5-hour experiential process group pre-conference institute session; 50-minute interactive/educational sessions; 30-minute research, case study/ethical dilemma/consultation presentations; and 30-minute poster sessions.
All presenters are expected to be available to present sessions in-person on their assigned date and time. Lead presenters must be current, registered members of ASGW at the time of application submission. Only 2 applications per individual may be submitted. Presenters will receive a reduced conference rate that will be communicated upon acceptance of their proposal(s).
To ensure review of your proposal application, please complete this form in its entirety. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered for conference inclusion. Please note that the application must be completed in one sitting and cannot be saved and returned to for later completion. At the time of submission, it is highly recommended that you print and/or save your submission for your records.
This Call for Proposals closes June 9th, 2023, at 11:59pm EST. All proposals will be reviewed with acceptance notifications sent by June 30th, 2023. Accepted presenters who have not registered by September 30th, 2023 will be withdrawn from the program.
