ASGW Biennial Conference
Group Work Innovations in a Transforming World
The world is facing major challenges that impact the ways in which groups come together and operate. As group workers, we embrace a culture of innovation to foster connections, social justice, and advocacy during these unprecedented times. This conference seeks to highlight creative and innovative group work examples that have positively impacted the profession at local and global levels.
The event will be held at One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach just outside of Jacksonville, Florida.
The keynote luncheon is one of the special highlights of the conference. Join us to hear Dr. Ana Puig facilitate a distinguished panel as they bring to life the conference theme. The facilitator and panelists include:

Hotel reservations
We celebrate that we have met our room block obligations with the conference hotel, One Ocean Resort & Spa. However, that means that the conference rates are no longer available for new reservations. Click here if you are interested in reserving a room at the prevailing rate.
Transportation
The closest major airport is Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). Some suggestions for ground transportation to the hotel are:
Uber. Estimated fares for one-way from JAX to One Ocean are between $27 and $50. Note that fare rates change based on time of day, volume of need, and available drivers.
East Coast Transportation. This is a resource to reserve private cars for 2-6 people. The estimates are $102 for 2 people and $166 for 6. Reservations can be made online.
Other vendors can be found on the Visit Jacksonville website.
Continuing Education
ASGW has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 1011. There are 18 hours of possible continuing education, including the pre-conference institute. Participants will document their attendance through the conference platform and CE attainment documentation will be provided post-conference. ASGW leadership is pleased to provide this documentation at no additional cost this year in recognition of the additional commitment needed to attend this conference. Further instructions will be provided at the conference.
ASGW Special Initiatives Empty Plate Fundraiser
ASGW’s Special Initiatives Committee will be hosting an Empty Plate Fundraiser at the conference Awards Luncheon to support the efforts of this year’s partner organization, JASMYN (www.jasmyn.org). JASMYN provides a wide range of services, including both therapeutic and peer support groups, to LGBTQ+ youth in the greater Jacksonville area. 100% of collected funds will be used to support their direct client services and community outreach initiatives.
In-person and virtual conference attendees are encouraged to contribute to JASMYN’s efforts by using the QR code below.
