I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, came of age in New York City, served in the Us Army for seven years, and currently live in Alexandria, Virginia, with my wife, 13-year-old daughter, Milo Beans (Labradoodle), and Maggie Waggie (Australian Shepperd Mix). In my free time, I volunteer as an emergency manager/instructor conducting suicide intervention workshops and managing disasters across the USA with a veteran organization called Team Rubicon.

I am a clinician and educator specializing in crisis counseling, traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Maryland) and a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and am currently working on my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Capella University, concentrating on the experiences of bilingual professional counselors working with Latinx adolescents.
